I UNDERSTAND KANSAS EDUCATION ISSUES
Educational issues have been high on my list of priorities for decades.I have taught various subjects at the K-12 and post-secondary level including science, math, public administration and faculty in-service.Plus, I have owned and managed manufacturing, consulting and international trade businesses. As a born and raised Kansan, I attended Roosevelt Middle School and East High School in Wichita.I went to Wichita State University then transferred and graduated from KU.After teaching public school Science, I earned my Ph.D. from Michigan State University. My Major was Instructional Systems Design, with Minors in Political Science, Business Management and computer applications. I developed a predictive model of instructional costs for my Doctoral Dissertation.
In addition, I was elected to serve on a School Board and headed the District budget process.I have also served on the faculty at 3 universities and 2 colleges. And, as owner of a private business, I have completed educational projects in 16 States involving over 700,000, K-12 students.Furthermore, I have served as the Budget and Planning Director for a 6-State Federal Project which included 125 Midwestern schools. So, I understand education issues from both sides—the classroom and the boardroom.
Please read my responses to questions from various Kansas organizations to learn where I stand on specific decisions which must be made soon, if Kansas businesses are to remain competitive in the global economy. Just click the links on the left side of this page to open each questionnaire.
